Bratislava May 20th 2025 (PROTEXT) - Retail auditors conduct unannounced audits of their suppliers. In recent weeks, two audits have been conducted at EU Poultry s.r.o., which has a processing plant in Horné Saliby. Tesco and Lidl are satisfied with the results of the audits.

Retail chains regularly conduct inspections and audits of their suppliers. Offering a quality and proven food assortment is a priority in the highly competitive retail market. The unannounced audit was first conducted by the long-standing auditor TÜV NORD from the Czech Republic, which carries out audits for the Tesco chain throughout Europe. This was followed by another unannounced audit for Lidl. EU Poultry s.r.o. supplies products to both chains, both under private labels and under its own brand Heny.

“Given that the auditor from TÜV NORD also conducted an audit at the company in 2021, she was able to responsibly assess the progress we have made. We have improved, above all, in documentation, hygiene and employee discipline. We were similarly successful in the recent audit for the Lidl chain,” said Yuliya Dzemiantsei, CEO of the EU Poultry s.r.o. production plant in Horné Saliby.

In February 2025, the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety was carried out at the company. Year-on-year, EU Poultry s.r.o. managed to increase the level of the certificate. It reached the AA level, which is the highest level within this type of audit. BRC is one of the most prestigious global standards for food safety.

The quality standards at EU Poultry s.r.o. already exceed the recommendations of commonly valid and established norms and standards throughout the industry in many parameters. Thanks to this, the company was able to succeed even on the demanding Austrian market, which has the strictest requirements for the quality and nutritional value of food among EU countries.
